SQUAW LOOKOUT

Squaw Mountain Fire Lookout is one of the few remaining fire lookouts still standing, but is no longer manned by the Forest Service. However, nowadays you can spend a night in the lookout and enjoy the isolation and panoramic views it provides. Squaw is located outside of Evergreen, CO off of Highway 103. The drive is especially scenic in of itself, and is dotted periodically with parking lots and pull-offs for other hiking spots. The only thing to keep in mind for this lookout in particular is that the catwalk is closed when guests are occupying the lookout out of respect for privacy.
