DECALIBRON
DECALIBRON aka Mts. Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross. The Decalibron loop is a 7.6 mile loop located near the tiny mountain town of Alma, CO south of Breckenridge. Yes, in just 7.6 miles, you too can summit four of Colorado's fifty-eight 14ers. While the majority of the hike is average in terms difficulty, the last 2 miles are fairly intense as you shed over 2,500' of elevation on your way back down to the trailhead. We agreed it was one of the worst bits of trail we had encountered, as the descent from Bross is riddled with scree and ankle annihilating boulders. The best views come from Mt. Democrat, the saddle between Democrat and Cameron, and the peak of Mt. Lincoln. Overall, Decalibron is a great one and done, never to return again, loop to finish off with a cold beer at a mountain bar.
