DEVIL'S HEAD
Devil's Head Fire Lookout, 9,748' above sea-level, is the last lookout tower in service in the state of Colorado. The station has been in continuous use since 1912, and was the spot where the first female lookout in history [Helen Dowe] was stationed. The trail is almost entirely incline, although gradual and with many spots to rest along the way. The 2.8 mile hike ends at a surreal mountain top clearing, where an old rustic cabin houses the current lookout.
